
DIRECTOR, LAW REFORM COMMISSION(LARCOM)
Oluyemisi Adefoluke Ogunlola is a seasoned legal professional with decades of experience and deep expertise in legislative drafting, legal advisory, and administration with a Law degree from the University of Lagos, Akoka. She began her career with Lagos State in 1994, in the Legislative Drafting Department of the Ministry of Justice after being called to the bar in 1990.
She rose to become a Director in 2015 and has built an impressive career across six prominent government parastatals, including the Lagos State House of Assembly, Lagos Waste Management Authority, and Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Ministry of Youth & Social Development where she played key legal and administrative roles.
A holder of a Master’s degree in Legislative Drafting from the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, Oluyemisi has a comprehensive understanding of Lagos State’s legal and administrative framework. She has served in various leadership capacities, from heading legal departments across government parastatals to leading the Legislative Drafting Department of the Ministry of Justice and serving as Secretary to Governing Boards. Her versatility, hard work, and leadership have consistently set her apart.
In addition to her legal credentials, Mrs Oluyemisi Ogunlola holds a professional degree in Administration from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN). Her administrative capabilities have been integral to the success of numerous initiatives across the public sector, with a focus on innovation, efficiency, and legal reform that meets the evolving needs of society.
Passionate about mentorship and making an impact, Oluyemisi is dedicated to empowering those she encounters. Whether through informal chats, contributions to legal discourse, or supporting personal dreams, she is always eager to share her knowledge and experience. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and unwinding with a good movie.

ACHIEVEMENTS FROM JANUARY 2020 TILL DATE
PEOPLE PERCEPTION SURVEY ON TRANSLATION OF LAGOS STATE LAWS INTO YORUBA LANGUAGE HELD AT STO RESOURCE CENTRE, ALAUSA, IKEJA (Wednesday, 16TH October 2024)

The Exercise was carried out in conjunction with Lagos State Bureau of Statistics before the first set of translated Laws is released to the public.

The Commission worked with the Lagos Bureau of Statistics to produce a draft Analysis report on People perception of the Translation of Lagos State Laws to Yoruba Language.
The proposed Bill (Lagos State Materials Testing Laboratory Bill) is to reduce the incidence in the State of buildings collapsing.
JOINT REVIEW SESSION WITH LAGOS STATE PHYSICAL PLANNING AND BUILDING CONTROL APPEALS COMMITTEE. (FRIDAY, 14TH FEBRUARY 2025)
An on-going reform process of the Urban and Regional Planning Development Law in line with the Ministry’s restructuring.
REVIEW MEETING WITH THE EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE GOVERNOR AND HEAD, LAGOS STATE OFFICE OF DIASPORA AFFAIRS. (THURSDAY, 6TH FEBRUARY 2025)
The new Bill is to establish an Office to promote and strengthen the relationship between the Government and diaspora community for the overall development of the State.
JOINT REVIEW SESSION WITH MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE (TUESDAY, 18TH MARCH 2025)
The on-going harmonisation of all the Agricultural and Forestry Laws in the State.
KNOWLEDGE SHARING SESSION ON HOW TO WRITE MEMO AND GOOD SUBMISSIONS BY DR. GBOLAHAN OKUDERO, THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY OF LAGOS STATE CHRISTIAN PILGRIMS WELFARE BOARD.
3-DAY WORKSHOP ON AI CAPABILITIES FOR THE TRANSLATION PROJECT
The Commission organised and held a 3-day workshop on AI Capabilities to assist with the ongoing project on the translation of the Laws of Lagos State into Yoruba Language and general everyday workings of the Commission.
ROUNDTABLE MEETING WITH IBILE OIL AND GAS CORPORATION
The Draft Bill on renewable energy (IBILE Energy Corporation) is before the State House of Assembly to be passed into law.
ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION ON REFORMING THE PHYSICAL PLANNING SECTOR
Reform of the Physical Planning and Urban Development Sector and Land Registration/Transactions for ease of doing business in Lagos State.
SESITIZATION VISITS TO MDAS
Based on the approval given by the Honorable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, the Commission visited the Ministries, Departments/Agencies (MDAs) in order to sensitize them on their laws.
