Pedro Lawal(SAN)

Lawal Mohammed Alade Pedro was born on 6th Oct 1961 in Lagos Island in the area known as Campos or Popo Aguda/Brazilian Quarters to the families of LIBENTO PEDRO and OJUTIKUAMBOSE BRANCH OF AKINSEMOYIN ROYAL FAMILY.

He attended Christ Church Cathedral Primary School, Broad Street, Lagos, Ahamadiyya College, Agege (now AnwarUl-Islam Model College Agege, Lagos and Methodist Boys High School, Lagos and Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, to study law He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1986.

Upon graduation, he had his mandatory youth service (NYSC) as a Legal Officer in Ibadan Western Regional Office of First Bank of Nigeria Plc. From private practice, he joined the Lagos State Ministry of Justice in December 1987 where he worked in various directorates and rose to became Director of Civil Litigation. The position he held until his appointment as the Solicitor General Of Lagos State and Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Justice in April 2008.

In the same year 2008, he was conferred with the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) to be the first State Counsel in Lagos State and any other State Public or Civil Service in the Federation of Nigeria to be conferred with the rank.

He retired from the public service of Lagos State Government in August 2015 to commence his private legal practice in the firm of Lawal Pedro,SAN & Associates with offices in Lagos And Abuja

He is a member of Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) International Bar Association (IBA), Fellow Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Nigeria (FCIArb) CEDR accredited Mediator and an author of law books prominent amongst his publications is the book titled “Jurisdiction of Courts in Nigeria”

He is happily married with lovely children
