PRESS RELEASE: NBA 2024 SPECIAL “LAGOS DAY:A SHOWCASE OF LAGOS CULTURAL HERITAGE AND SIGNIFICANT ACHIEVEMENTS

With the goal of showcasing Lagos rich cultural heritage and significant achievements,  the State Government organized a Special “Lagos Day” event during the 64th NBA Annual General Conference on Tuesday, 27th August, 2024 at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Onikan, Lagos. In his address, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Lawal Pedro, SAN ,stated that Lagos has made great efforts to showcase its achievements in various sectors of the nation, while aiming to attract local and international investors thereby fostering economic growth and development in the State. He noted that this year’s NBA Conference will provide visitors from other states with a memorable experience of Lagos life. He also referred to the earlier Justice Reform Summit which focused on addressing legal issues, including reducing case durations and expediting landlord-tenant disputes. The AG further reiterated the developments that will be made for Magistrates in the coming months. This is to demonstrate the State’s commitments to supporting its judicial officers. The event was a success, blending culture(Eyo Iyepe Dance), achievements, innovation and legal expertise with the unique energy of Lagos State. Other attendees include, PS Lands Bureau, Mr. Kamar Owodiran Olowoshago; PS Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Mr. Sesan Tunde Ogundeko; Directors and Counsel in the Lagos Ministry of Justice, Legal Practitioners and  representatives from different  Agencies and MDAs  in the State.

PRESS RELEASE :Lagos State Set to Host Special Lagos Day at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference 2024

The Lagos State Government is set to host a Special Lagos Day during the 2024 edition of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference. The event, scheduled for Tuesday, 27th August 2024, will take place at the specially built Marquee, within the Conference venue at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos, from 11:00 AM. This year’s NBA Annual General Conference will feature legal practitioners, industry leaders, judges, technocrats, and entrepreneurs from across Nigeria and beyond. With such a prestigious platform, Lagos State aims to leverage Special Lagos Day as it presents a prime opportunity for Lagos State to showcase its cultural heritage, innovative projects, and significant achievements. The Experience Centre, which will be the highlight of Special Lagos Day, offers conferees an immersive journey through Lagos’ culture and achievements. From captivating cultural displays featuring traditional music, dance, and the iconic Eyo masquerade parade, to exhibitions of historical artifacts and photographs depicting the old and new Lagos, attendees will witness the state’s dynamic evolution. In addition to the cultural showcase, the Experience Centre will feature an exhibition of Lagos State Government’s major initiatives, accomplishments and ongoing projects. In a Statement on Sunday , Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for justice, Mr Lawal Pedro SAN expressed excitement at the opportunity to showcase the state’s rich heritage and innovative strides at one of the largest gatherings of legal professionals in Africa. “Special Lagos Day presents a unique opportunity to highlight the culture, history, and traditions that make Lagos truly special, while also demonstrating our achievements and future projects. We are proud to host this event and look forward to giving attendees an authentic Lagos experience,” Mr Pedro said.
